The topic of Bulgarian castles, palaces, fortresses, fortifications, strongholds and keeps is a very underestimated and neglected subject.
More likely the reason is hidden in the fact, that many of them were demolished during the Ottoman yolk. From what remains of these structures, not too many are in good condition nowadays and in fact only one (Baba Vida) remains in a habitable state.
